Cleveland Museum of Art: Music in the Gallery: Madness & Melancholy

  • Cleveland Museum of Art 11150 East Boulevard Cleveland, OH, 44106 United States (map)

Kira sings as “Madness & Melancholy”, presented by members of Cleveland Chamber Choir, as part of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s “Chamber Music in the Galleries” series.

When the passions of our subconscious pour out into daily life, the results are dramatic indeed.

In Madness & Melancholy, singers from Cleveland Chamber Choir bring us a program of baroque music that promises to arouse the spirits of even the most lethargic of souls. The selections include excerpts from Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, mad songs by John Eccles and John Blow, Italian laments and more. With Dominic Aragon, baritone; Abigail Hakel-Garcia, soprano and violin; Adrian Murillo, theorbo; Kira McGirr, contralto; and Gregory Ristow, harpsichord.

6:00pm start, free.
