In Madness & Melancholy, singers from Cleveland Chamber Choir bring us a program of baroque music that promises to arouse the spirits of even the most lethargic of souls. The selections include excerpts from Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, mad songs by John Eccles and John Blow, Italian laments and more. With Dominic Aragon, baritone; Abigail Hakel-Garcia, soprano and violin; Adrian Murillo, theorbo; Kira McGirr, contralto; and Gregory Ristow, harpsichord. 12:00pm start, free.

Presented with acclaimed collaborative pianist Susan EllingerUnsung Voices celebrates the rich and often overlooked repertoire of women and LGBTQ composers. This concert features works by remarkable women composers — Alma Mahler (Fünf Lieder), Clara Schumann (Sechs Lieder, Op. 13), and Cécile Chaminade — all gifted composers and brilliant pianists. The program also includes Home of the Brave by contemporary composer Ricky Ian Gordon, a reflection on identity and resilience. Presented as part of Church of the Western Reserve’s Concert Series.
